In the CircleIn the midst of major world challenges, something profound is being born—a recognition that individuals with vision and commitment can make significant contributions to healing the planet. We invite you to join us in the conversations and training that will offer new insights, growth and clarity in moving ahead with personal initiatives that matter.

_Who should come and why?

Global Youth in Action (GYIA) programs are designed for individuals wanting to be part of a global community of passionate, engaged citizens of all ages who hear their own "call" to do more in the world, and who are ready to develop stronger leadership capacities to help make that happen.  Be empowered to make a difference in the world, and acquire confidence and skills needed to become an effective leader with a global support and resource network.

_Experience the Balinese Culture

Balinese DanceGYIA offers the opportunity to be immersed into the indigenous realm of Bali, to build a stronger link between the East-West perspectives on shifting world views. Highlights include Balinese performances and rituals throughout the gathering as well as spending time with local Balinese village leaders and youth.

When attending GYIA programs, participants live in homestays with Balinese families, allowing a glimpse of true community living.

_Other Unique Components:

We believe that dialogue is a key ingredient in achieving a deeper understanding of our individual and collective roles as change agents. Many dialogic processes are used throughout our programs including the World Café, Open Space, Appreciative Inquiry and new forms of conflict resolution training. Collaborative learning environments are created to draw on our collective insights into the world around us.

Explore how NGO’s impact the immediate needs of a country still facing extreme poverty and other concerns. GYIA offers an opportunity to spend a few days learning about the challenges of social activism on a day-to-day level. Our participants work closely with local NGO's and spend time doing field work and observation of their projects.

_Here is what you can expect to take home

Linked! These programs aim to bridge the gap between personal desires for change and an actual implementation plan for committed action. Much of each program will allow time for you to become clear about your own visions that help drive your initiatives, and the initial planning phases to help get your ideas off the ground. Also, all delegates will be in collaborative teams throughout the each program, creating a network that will give additional support needed to keep you grounded, focused and motivated for success when you return home.

Our leadership and facilitation training offered through our programs are designed to enrich your capacities in galvanizing the resources and energy necessary to create change in your own communities. You will leave with the confidence to use many of the dialogic methods in your workplace, university, or other social setting.
